We give glory to God for causing us to witness this last month of the year. We know that during the month of December all around the world, the focus is on Christmas. This season is a time to rejoice and reflect on the perfect gift God has given to mankind- JESUS CHRIST.
We all know that John 3v 16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life.” What is your focus this December? Is it on the turkey, lamb roast, chicken and other Christmas goodies you will consume or is it on Jesus Christ and what He did for you?
We were once begotten but man fell, but Halleluyah we are begotten again as a result of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1 v 3).
When man fell in the Garden of Eden, he handed over his authority to the devil and came under the dominion of the devil. Man, therefore needed to be redeemed from the hand of the devil. Man cannot redeem himself and God being a JUST God could not take man by force from the devil.
Neither could he break the redemptive laws.
Leviticus 25v 47 -55 tell us that if a man sells himself to a stranger he can be redeemed again, however there are three redemptive laws:
- The redeemer and the redeemer to be redeemed must be related.
- The redeemer and the stranger (the person that bought the man over) must meet.
- The redeemer must be able to pay the price.
Jesus was able to satisfy these 3 criteria and he became our redeemer:-
- Jesus came in the flesh to live among us and therefore is related to man.
- Jesus met with the stranger (the devil) and confronted him.
- Jesus paid the price. We are redeemed not with corruptible things but with the precious blood of the lamb (1 Peter 1 v 18-21).
Revelations Chapter 5 contains God’s master plan for the salvation of man.
The question was asked as to who is able to take up the matter (to save fallen man). No man volunteered, no angel volunteered but to God be the glory, the Lion of the tribe of Judah prevailed to open the book.
He took up the matter and became our Redeemer. Oh, what a wonder, what a perfect gift. This month of December, let us thank Him for the finished work on the cross of Calvary knowing fully well that even if you were the only person on this earth, He would still have died for you.
If dear reader, you are not born again, this is an opportunity for you to come unto Jesus. Romans 10 v 10 says “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. It is that simple. Receive Jesus into your heart today and confess that he is LORD over your life. God bless you.
