We are fast approaching the end of 2022. We may be looking forward to the new year. 2023 will definitely have great things to offer especially as it paves the way for a new beginning. New years, birthdays, anniversaries and landmark achievements can bring about new beginnings
A new beginning refers to a new phase in ones life or a second chance in ones life. Our journey in life consists of phases and each phase is full of experiences whether good or bad.
Romans 5:3-5 says “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
The experiences of today are for a better tomorrow. Whatever phase you may be passing through right now tell yourself “I’m in for a new beginning.”
Hannah went through phases in her marital life – phases that were unpleasant and sorrowful. Phases whereby she was despised by her husband’s second wife, Peninnah. But the God of new beginnings stepped into her life and gave her a new phase of unspeakable joy. And you know the rest of the story – she gave birth to Samuel.
God is a God of second chance. Naaman, the Captain of the Host of the King of Syria was given a second chance.
Naaman as you know had a ” but” in his life. A ” but” that marred his great C.V. He was a leper. His boss, the King of Syria sent him to the King of Israel. Elisha heard of it and sent for Naaman. Of course, Naaman responded and came with his entourage but when Elisha sent his servant to Naaman to tell him that he should wash seven times in River Jordan, Naaman was angry and turned away.
But the God of SECOND CHANCE stepped in again and Naaman hearkened to the counsel of his servants and dipped himself seven times in Jordan and he became clean.
Zacchaeus, a Chief Publican of a short stature, was given a fresh start in life. He received a divine visitation. He was singled out amongst the crowd. Zacchaeus sought Jesus and climbed a sycamore tree despite firstly his height and secondly, the crowd being against him.
Jesus looked up and saw him. GOD SEES YOU! You know the rest of the story – Zacchaeus received his salvation. Allow the LORD of new beginnings who SEES YOU to step in to your life NOW and turn your life around.
THE BEST OF YOUR YEARS ARE THE REST OF YOUR YEARS. Don’t give up and don’t live a defeated life. Be encouraged and press on. There are open doors awaiting your entrance. Congratulations as you enter them.
