Divine Blessings

I hope you had a great time last week. This second week of September 2016, we are going to focus on DIVINE BLESSINGS. I reach out to all those who desire meaningful relationships. Relationships require give and take. Do not be a drain on anyone but desire to invest in peoples’ lives. I am a PEOPLES BUILDER, constantly looking out for the progress of people I come across. I love to encourage people.

When we speak about DIVINE BLESSINGS, we mean God’s type of blessings as opposed to any other source of so called blessings.

Remember Proverbs 10 v 22 says “the blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he added no sorrow with it”.

The reason for living, that is purpose, has caused many people to go far and wide in their search for relevance. Purpose drives us because it gives us a reason for living and breeds passion. People desire to know the special plan that God has for their lives.

People are generally looking for acceptance, they want to be needed and loved. We must endeavour to build good relationships; this enables us to express our love towards other people. Rejection has caused marriages to fail; it has made children to run away from home and has made some people to develop an inferiority complex. Let us learn to accept people and pray for them. We cannot change people but the LORD can.

There are over seven billion people in the world and we are all individually significant and special. We are unique. People want to keep their own unique identity and we should encourage this. Allow people to express their uniqueness. Protection is another desire that people have. To be secure and well taken care of is a need of many of us. All these desires can only be met through relationships.

The questions you need to ask yourself now are “How do I value relationships?” and “Who are my friends?”. If you look out for people, they will look out for you. Not necessarily them per se but other people may be the ones looking out for you. This is because the law of harvest is in operation.

Talking about the law of harvest, it also applies, where our relationship with God is concerned. Is He your friend? Are you friendly with Him? James 4v8 says “Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you”.

Do you draw close to him or are you avoiding him because of distractions or the pleasures of sin? Connect today, so that you can enjoy the fullness of divine blessings. I mentioned the fullness, because God allows rain to pour on the just and the unjust according to Matthew 5 v 45. He allows all of us to enjoy the benefits of the air, the sun and water.

However there are additional benefits for those who draw closer to Him. There is a true blessing which can only come from our LORD, who is known as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Hebrew word for BLESSED is ASHER which means happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable.

There are some businesses named after this word “ASHER”, the owners trusting that indeed the LORD will make them and their businesses prosperous.

Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4 v 9 realized that something was wrong with his life. The pronouncement of his mother, who rubber stamped him as “Sorrow”, haunted him in the early days of his life.

However, the LORD can overrule any negative pronouncement if you call on Him from a sincere heart. Jabez cried ” Oh, that thou wouldest bless me indeed”. God answered him. Jabez was destined to be more honourable than his brethren; by His cry, he was realigned with his destiny and purpose.

Cry out to Him today. It is never too late to be realigned with your God ordained destiny and purpose. May you always enjoy the fullness of Divine blessings. You are blessed.
